A portion of the proceeds from your purchase of a Holy Shofar will be donated to Micha, an organization dedicated to serving the needs of hearing impaired children in Haifa and the North of Israel. Micha Haifa Center provides treatment, education and rehabilitation for hearing impaired infants and children. Micha – Haifa & the North is a registered nonprofit organization. Micha is responsible for whole of Israel north of Hadera – a population that includes Jews (including new immigrants from former USSR and Ethiopia) Muslims & Christians. They accept any and every hearing impaired child that applies. There is no waiting list. Micha staff works out of one of their two centers located in either Haifa or Tiberius. They have 70 full and part time professionals tending to these children with the goal being to set the child on the road to integration into the hearing society thereby enabling the child to enter the regular school system when he or she reaches school-going age – to hear, with a suitable hearing aid, to speak, to sing and dance.
