Rockets into Roses- From Rockets to Roses to Shelter

From Rockets to Roses to Shelters

rocketsFrom rockets…

Over 13,000 Kassam Rockets have been fired into southern Israel in the last 12 years, deliberately targeting Israeli civilians, causing chaos, destruction and death. An entire generation of children has been traumatized by the terror of ongoing rocket attacks. Israeli cities such as Sderot and Ashkelon continue to be in real danger. As Hamas’ Kassam Rocket stockpiles continue to increase, this is a war on terror that needs your support.

To roses…

Hand sculpted roses, candlesticks, menorahs, keychains, pendants, and more, crafted from actual Kassam Rockets that landed in Israel, symbolize the perseverance of the people of Israel. Living symbols of Israel’s endurance in the face of Hamas and Islamic terror. Yaron Bob, an Israeli artist, who understands what it means to live in the shadow of terror, has found his way of transforming objects of war into expressions of peace. He creates metal art sculptures that blossom                                                                                                                     with hope: A magnificent rose with a mission.

To shelters…

Nearly one million residents of Israel are within striking range of rockets from Gaza. With only 15 seconds to find cover, lives are in jeopardy. Israel desperately needs more bomb shelters to protect its citizens. From each item purchased on our website, a portion of the proceeds will be donated towards building more bomb shelters.

About the Artist

“With just a hammer, anvil and furnace, artist Yaron Bob melts, moulds and sculpts Kassam rocket metal into gorgeous flowers.”

Yaron Bob is an art teacher and blacksmith who lives in Yated, a small Israeli community near the border with the Gaza strip. Mr. Bob had two close calls with rockets and he knew he needed to react to the terror that he and his community were facing.

Yaron wanted to create something that speaks of growth  and prosperity and to make something out of the destruction and of the ruins of the kassam.

“It finally struck me that I need to make a rose from the Kassam,” Yaron says. Now, Bob collects the spent rockets, most given to him by the police, after they have been checked by the bomb squad.

“I take the kassam, the instrument of death and I change it, I transfer it into something of beauty.”
